Sandthrax Canyon
Been wanting to hit Sandthrax for a long time but it either never worked out or we couldn't get together the right crew. It is no place to take lightly and getting a hold of a couple BD #6 cams to defeat the offwidth crux is no small task either. The canyon exceeded my expectaions in beauty and how much fun we had. Lots of up's and downs, scary silo's, a "way harder than it looks" crux upclimb, and a sweet sculpty walking section. Great day with a great crew.
After Sandthrax I spent 7 days on Lake Powell doing canyons accessed from the boat. Look for pics coming as soon as I get copies from others in the group (I didn't take any).
Most photos in this post by Landon, with a couple from my cell phone cam.
Belaying the big silo.
Cruxy crux!
Don't screw up!
Finally on Terra Firma.
