Climbing at the PTC

Here are some photos of some hard climbing at the Poptire Cave. I wonder how many other caves like this are hiding in the desert waiting to be discovered.

The location provided is disinformation. I'm only pointing that out because I think it sucks to provide somebody a bogus location and have them drive out 3 hours just to find out they got burned. The poster should just tell you the truth, "I'm not going to post the location because I don't want the Wal-Mart crowd to Google it, show up, and trash the place." I saw some pictures and a short vid on YouTube and got curious about where it is. I know that area well enough that I've got it pretty well worked out where it is because of what it overlooks and some geological features on the next ridge to the west. The location that was given to you is all wrong, that's obvious from the sun angle in the pictures and what it overlooks.

When I go back out and confirm the location, I'm not going to post it anywhere. Very few things piss me off more than to come up on a nice location like this and find shotgun shells, beer bottles, other trash, and stuff that has been shot up. I'm pro-2nd Amendment but pick up your trash when you leave, ffs. Leave No Trace isn't just a treehugger fad, it's for everybody and for good reason. I'm not going to burn the location, there's good reason to keep it quiet. I do agree with the climbing community on that.
